Permanent Vacation is a record label run by Benjamin Fröhlich and Tom Bioly based in Munich and has been responsible for some of the most innovative moments in electronic music of recent times.
Since 2006, Permanent Vacation’s mixture of Balearic, Cosmic, Italo, ProtoHouse has been seminal in the resurgent love for Disco and all its variations.
However, BIOLY und FRÖHLICH don’t consider Disco as a mere retro phenomenon, which holds up Music’s legendary musical heritage. They rather interpret Disco as a form of mentality which dissolves from all too fixed and earnest paradigms, promising warmth, playfulness and fun in electronic music.
Starting with their self-titled first compilation “Permanent Vacation” to output from the likes of DMX Krew, Lauer, Red Axes, Pional, Mano Le Tough, Róisín Murphy, Chloé, John Talabot, Gerd Janson, Perel and many more, Permanent Vacation is undoubtedly a fixture in the electronic music scene.
