I had been listening to James Baldwin interviews which inspired the intro to this mix. I wish I had learned more about him earlier in my life, but started paying attention when I read some of his work in the 80’s. He is truly one of the great writers and advocate for change and to me an American hero, an endless source of inspiration. I never really plan out my mixes, I just find something to inspire the first song and go from there.
